Personal notes

Margins & small thoughts.

Short thoughts, reflections and lessons. Written quickly, kept honestly.

  1. On starting before you're ready

Readiness is a feeling that usually arrives after you begin, not before. The trick is to make the first step small enough that waiting for confidence seems silly.

  2. Learning compounds quietly

Twenty minutes a day looks like nothing in a week and like everything in a year. Most progress is invisible until suddenly it isn't.

  3. A question to end the week

What did I learn this week that I would not have known if I had stayed comfortable?

  4. Notes are for future me

Write things down as if explaining them to someone you care about who has forgotten everything. That person is you, six months from now.

  5. Slow is a speed too

Not everything worth doing rewards urgency. Some ideas need to be walked around, slept on and returned to.
